Artisan & Post

Based in Galax, Virginia, Artisan and Post manufactures bedroom furniture. In 1919, two men, B.C. Vaughan and J.D. Bassett, Sr., both of whom were from Bassett, Virginia, first founded our company. Mr. Bassett, Sr., and his brother, C.C. Bassett, also founded what today is well known as Bassett Furniture Industries.

Employing over 500 craftsmen in factories based in Galax, Virginia, we are extremely proud of the fact that 100 percent of our furniture is crafted here in the United States by American employees. In fact, Artisan and Post is now the largest manufacturer of solid wood adult bedroom furniture in the United States.

All of the furniture we manufacture consists of American Hardwood solids harvested near our plants in the Southeast. Oak, Maple, Cherry, and Birch are the primary species used in Artisan and Post bedroom collections.

Our number one priority is providing our customers with unmatched service, quality, and value. In short, nothing makes us happier than to make it easy for our customers to feel at home.

All Artisan and Post chests and dressers are engineered to comply with ASTM International F2057, a voluntary stability standard for bedroom storage furniture. Furniture tip restraints and instructions for installation are included.

We strongly recommend using the tip restraint hardware to securely anchor this product to the wall. In homes where children reside or visit, we advise you to anchor all chests and dressers.

Artisan & Post® furniture is crafted with pride in the USA using solid hardwoods and time-honored woodworking techniques. Vaughan-Bassett stands behind the quality of its materials and workmanship with the following Limited Warranty.

1. Warranty Coverage

Vaughan-Bassett warrants to the original residential purchaser that Artisan & Post® furniture is free from defects in material and workmanship under normal household use.

Solid Wood Furniture

Lifetime Limited Warranty
Covers defects in materials and workmanship of solid wood components for as long as the original owner owns the product.

Case Goods & Structural Components

1 Year Limited Warranty
Covers structural integrity, joints, and assembly under normal residential use.

Hardware (drawer glides, hinges, pulls)

1 Year Limited Warranty
Covers functional defects under normal use.

2. What This Warranty Covers

This warranty covers:

Manufacturing defects
Structural failures due to faulty workmanship
Defective materials used in production

At its discretion, Vaughan-Bassett will:

Repair the defective part, or
Replace the defective part or product, or
Provide a replacement of equal value if the original item is no longer available

3. Natural Characteristics of Wood (Not Defects)

Artisan & Post furniture is made from solid hardwood, and natural variations are expected and celebrated. The following are not considered defects and are not covered under warranty:

Wood grain variations
Knots, mineral streaks, or color variation
Expansion or contraction due to humidity or temperature
Slight movement, checking, or hairline cracks
Distressing or hand-applied finish variations

These characteristics are inherent to genuine solid wood furniture and contribute to its unique beauty.

4. What Is NOT Covered

This warranty does not cover:

Normal wear and tear
Damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, or improper care
Damage from exposure to extreme heat, cold, moisture, or direct sunlight
Scratches, dents, or stains after delivery
Commercial, rental, or hospitality use
Improper assembly or unauthorized repairs
Acts of nature (floods, fire, earthquakes, etc.)

5. Care & Maintenance Requirement

Proper care is required to maintain warranty coverage:

Maintain normal indoor humidity (35%–55%)
Avoid placing furniture near HVAC vents or direct sunlight
Use coasters, placemats, and protective pads
Clean only with approved wood furniture cleaners
(No harsh chemicals, abrasives, or alcohol-based cleaners)

6. Warranty Claim Process

To initiate a warranty claim, the original purchaser must provide:

Proof of purchase (invoice or receipt)
Clear photographs of the issue
Description of the defect

Claims must be submitted through the authorized retailer from whom the furniture was purchased.

7. Limitation of Liability

This warranty is limited to repair or replacement only. Vaughan-Bassett shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of use or inconvenience.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary by state.
